It&#8217;s not about patience but about perception: a slow-loading page gives the impression of a company that responds slowly. <\/p>\n<h2>Where Time Is Actually Lost<\/h2>\n<p>In practice, a single major problem is rarely to blame. It&#8217;s usually a sum of small things, each of which seems harmless on its own. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-resolution images, only scaled down in the browser<\/li>\n<li>Plugins that load on every page but are used on only one<\/li>\n<li>Five tracking scripts, three of which no one monitors<\/li>\n<li>Fonts that block text display until downloaded<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>You don&#8217;t fix speed at the end of a project. It&#8217;s a consequence of decisions made at the beginning. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>What to Fix First<\/h2>\n<p>If you have limited time, this order will give you the most return on your investment.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Images: correct size, modern format, and lazy loading for what&#8217;s not visible.<\/li>\n<li>Scripts: remove what you don&#8217;t use and defer what isn&#8217;t essential for the initial display.<\/li>\n<li>Server: caching and decent hosting solve more than any micro-optimization.<\/li>\n<li>Measurement: before and after, on a mobile network, not just on your computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>How We Do It<\/h2>\n<p>For us, speed is part of development, not a separate item at the end.
